Gold-Dipped Vanity
When I saw the unique style of this vanity/ desk, I had various visions running through my head of what I could do to give it new life! But I was in a little bit of a "back up" with custom orders, so it sat amongst my stash of pieces to be revived for quite some time.
When I finally was able to give it the attention it needed, my vision had changed --- this little lovely had something much more glamorous in store!!
Have any of you seen the Gold-dipped furniture pieces? They are so pretty and with these curvy legs, I thought this piece was the perfect candidate!! I chose our Wise Owl Restful for a nice serene hue
and Modern Master's Pale Gold to GLAM IT UP!!
I taped off the legs of the vanity to create the crisp lines and repainted the gold on the bottom part of the legs. I also did a wet distressing on the Restful to reveal the beautiful gold beneath!
I sealed the vanity with General Finishes High Performance Topcoat
I found the Thomasville stool, and although it was in nearly pristine condition, the top had a few spots. So I used my Wise Owl Antique Villa on the fabric!
YES! You can paint fabric with our paints and it does NOT feel crunchy!!!
I sprayed the surface really well with water, painted the Antique Villa on it, and sealed with our Clear Wax. Easy, easy, easy!!
I replaced the cheap and brassy hardware with some new (and much better quality) hardware that I spruced up a little to get it to match to the look I wanted.
WOW, she so pretty now!!! Perfect for that corner in a dressing room or bedroom!
